Origin
The marigold belongs to the daisy family and probably originates from the Atlas Mountains in North Africa.
In Central Europe, the marigold has been used as a medicinal plant since the 12th century.
It is now one of the best-known medicinal herbs and has active ingredients that are used in many different areas.
Effect
Among other things, marigold promotes wound healing, wound closure and the growth of new cells. It also inhibits inflammation and is generally regarded as cleansing, decongestant and pain-relieving.
This beautiful flower was even named medicinal plant of the year in 2009.
